Handlebars / Riser

From the beginning of the development, the handlebars of a chopper motorbike were "different" to the then familiar handlebars. It was an expression of standing out from the crowd. With it, the upright position had been invented and marked itself off from the "stooped".

As high as possible - up to the model "never again sweaty armpits" - in the most different forms, in the early phase, this development served merely to produce a formerly unknown, relaxed sitting position. Over the years, it became the "face of the chopper."

Today, a correspondingly high number of handlebar-variants are on offer on the market. In order to get a general idea of the market situation, the following criteria can be useful:

1) Model-based handlebars

2) Universal handlebars
     in 7/8" or 1" diameter

3) handlebars with internal wiring

These handlebar groups can be further sub-divided by design and means of production:

a) Curved handlebars

b) Z-handlebars (open above, welded)

c) T-handlebars (closed above, welded)

d) A-handlebars
    (to be screwed directly to the triple tree,
    without risers)

All AME handlebars are produced using 7/8" or 1" high gloss chrome steel. They are delivered with a TÜV certificate.

If risers are required to be mounted, it is possible to choose between different designs and lengths. In the case of AME risers, the top screws are serially produced using stainless steel.

If new break and clutch lines are required after fitting the handlebars, AME-steel braided lines can be used.

All hydraulic AME steel braided lines for the clutch and breaks have been inspected according to the newest guidelines and are delivered with a TÜV component certificate. Special lengths can be made to measures and delivered upon short-term demand.
